BY USING GRIPCALC, YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT:

  • ALL CALCULATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES
  • YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS associated with the use of tyre pressure calculations and recommendations
  • INCORRECT TYRE PRESSURES CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL, ACCIDENTS, INJURY, OR DEATH
  • YOU WAIVE, RELEASE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE US from ANY AND ALL claims, damages, liabilities, and causes of action arising from your use of this application
  • YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD US HARMLESS from any and all claims arising from your use of the application
  • WE ACCEPT NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER for any damages or losses arising from the use of this application

Every acknowledgement above is subject to clause 6, which sets out what these terms do not and cannot exclude.

Welcome to GripCalc. By accessing or using our tyre pressure calculator application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

GripCalc is operated by Sam Hayes, an individual trading as GripCalc. References to "we", "our" and "us" in these Terms are references to him.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GripCalc, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using GripCalc on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

GripCalc provides a tyre pressure calculation tool designed to help motorsport enthusiasts calculate cold tyre pressures based on various parameters including:

  • Vehicle specifications
  • Tyre types and models
  • Ambient and target temperatures
  • Track characteristics
  • Pyrometer analysis tools

GripCalc provides estimates and recommendations for informational purposes only. The calculations are based on general principles and may not account for all variables specific to your situation. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and consult with professional mechanics or motorsport engineers for safety-critical decisions.

3. Use of Service

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use GripCalc for:

  • Personal, non-commercial motorsport activities
  • Educational purposes related to vehicle setup
  • Professional motorsport applications
  • Calculating tyre pressures for track days and racing

3.2 Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the Service
  • Use automated systems to access the Service excessively
  • Distribute or sell access to the Service
  • Remove or modify any copyright or proprietary notices
  • Interfere with the Service's operation or security

4. COMPLETE DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES AND LIABILITY

NO WARRANTY: The Application is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of calculations
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Suitability for your specific vehicle, tyres, or conditions

COMPLETE WAIVER: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable UK law, you hereby WAIVE, RELEASE, and forever DISCHARGE us, our affiliates, officers, employees, representatives, partners, and all persons acting on our behalf from ANY AND ALL claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, liabilities, and causes of action of every kind and nature whatsoever, whether known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Application.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES
  • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
  • Vehicle damage, tyre failure, or mechanical problems
  • Accidents, injuries, or death resulting from any use of our calculations
  • Any consequences resulting from pressure calculations or recommendations
  • Damages arising from environmental conditions, tyre wear, vehicle modifications, or other factors

USER SOLE RESPONSIBILITY: You are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for:

  • Verifying all calculations and recommendations
  • Ensuring tyre pressures are appropriate for your specific vehicle, tyres, and conditions
  • Regular safety checks and maintenance
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Any consequences arising from the use of this Application
  • Obtaining professional advice where appropriate

Even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages, we shall not be liable.

6. WHAT THESE TERMS DO NOT EXCLUDE

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales, including your statutory rights as a consumer where they apply.

Every exclusion and limitation in these terms applies only to the extent permitted by law, and is to be read subject to this section.

7. MEMBERSHIP

The calculator is free and stays free. GripCalc Pro is an optional membership that unlocks additional features: unlimited session storage, CSV export of your sessions, tread depth logging and car profiles.

Session history. Without an active membership, GripCalc stores your most recent 50 sessions on your device. With a membership active, storage is unlimited and nothing is trimmed. The history drawer shows every session the store holds; a free-tier display limit of the most recent 10 applies only once memberships can be bought. If your device's storage runs out, the app tells you so rather than deleting anything.

Buying a membership. There is currently no way to buy a membership through the app. No payment path is offered and no payment is taken. A membership is activated by entering a member code. If paid membership opens later, the price and what it includes will be stated at the point of purchase, payment will be taken by a payment provider under their own terms, you will be able to cancel at any time with access continuing to the end of the paid period, and nothing in this section will affect your statutory rights, including the cancellation rights that apply to consumers under the law of England and Wales.

8. COMPLETE ASSUMPTION OF RISK

⚠️ MOTORSPORT DANGER WARNING:

By using GripCalc, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • MOTORSPORTS AND TRACK DRIVING ARE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES
  • Participation can result in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH
  • YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS associated with tyre pressure calculations and their implementation
  • Tyre pressures are CRITICAL to vehicle safety
  • Incorrect pressures can cause loss of control, tyre failure, and catastrophic accidents
  • This Application does NOT eliminate or reduce inherent motorsport risks
  • Tyre pressure calculations are estimates based on general principles
  • Environmental conditions, tyre wear, vehicle modifications, and numerous other factors affect optimal pressures
  • You are solely responsible for verifying all calculations against manufacturer specifications
  • Professional consultation should ALWAYS be sought for safety-critical applications

9. Accuracy of Information

While we strive to provide accurate calculations:

  • Data in our database may contain errors or be outdated
  • Calculations are based on general formulas and assumptions
  • Results should always be verified against manufacturer specifications
  • Professional advice should be sought for competitive applications

10. User Content and Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or other communications to us:

  • You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use such content
  • We may use feedback to improve the Service without compensation to you
  • You represent that you have the right to provide such content
  • Feedback does not create any confidential or proprietary relationship

The message you type into the feedback form is transmitted to GripCalc's own server and to Google Analytics along with the rest of that event. Please do not include personal details in it. Sections 5.1 and 5.2 of the Privacy Policy explain this in full.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of GripCalc are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the Service
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
  • Use our trademarks without permission

12. Third-Party Services

GripCalc makes requests to two third-party services:

  • Google Analytics (subject to Google's terms)
  • The Open-Meteo weather API, and only when you grant location permission

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

13. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

14. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the Service at any time
  • Change features, functionality, or calculations
  • Update vehicle and tyre databases
  • Impose usage limits or restrictions

We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service, subject always to clause 6.

15. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Where a revision is material, the version of the acceptance gate in the app is raised at the same time, so you are asked to accept the revised Terms rather than being moved onto them quietly. The date at the top of this page says when it last changed.

16. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service:

  • Immediately, without notice, for any violation of these Terms
  • For any reason at our sole discretion
  • If we discontinue the Service

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sessions already stored on your own device are not affected: we have no means of reaching them.

17. COMPLETE INDEMNIFICATION

YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, AND HOLD HARMLESS GripCalc and our affiliates, officers, employees, representatives, partners, and all persons acting on our behalf from and against ANY AND ALL claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights or applicable laws
  • Any consequences of implementing our calculations or recommendations
  • Any accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from your motorsport activities
  • Your breach of the representations and warranties contained herein
  • Any claims by third parties related to your use of the Service

This indemnity is subject to clause 6 and applies only to the extent the law permits. It shall survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service. Nothing in this clause takes away a consumer's right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which they live.

We would much rather settle a complaint directly. Write to gripcalc@gmail.com first and we will try to put it right.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GripCalc regarding the Service.

21. Professional Advice Disclaimer

GripCalc does not provide professional mechanical, engineering, or motorsport consulting services. Our calculations and recommendations are for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for safety-critical decisions.
